Sham Shui Po youth hostel approved
It will offer 676 beds.
The Home & Youth Affairs Bureau has approved a new youth hostel project in Sham Shui Po that will provide up to 676 beds.
The project, named TN Residence, is the sixth under the Subsidy Scheme for Using Hotels & Guesthouses as Youth Hostels. It is located at 280 Tung Chau Street and is a joint effort by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) and Hong Kong Ferry (Holdings) Company.
TN Residence will create a “youth vertical community” to help tenants build social networks based on mutual support.
The project also features the V-Mile programme, which encourages tenants to take part in activities and community services to promote self-growth and social contribution.
The bureau noted the hostel’s location near railway stations and within a cultural and creative hub with many shops and restaurants.
Additionally, it will set up a space at Nam Cheong District Community Centre and Tung Chau Street Temporary Market to connect Youth Link members and support the hostel community.
